Data Retention & Deletion

Last updated: July 16, 2026

We keep your financial data only while you’re using it, delete it when you ask, and hold ourselves to the data practices required by Plaid and applicable law. This page summarizes how long we keep data and how deletion works.

How long we keep your data

Your data lives in LEYUIT for as long as you keep it in an active account. When you remove it, disconnect the source, or close your account, it enters our deletion process. We do not retain your financial data indefinitely without an active account.

DataHow long we keep it
Bank access tokensOnly while an institution is linked — deleted immediately when you disconnect it.
Accounts, balances & transactionsWhile in your account — removed when you delete them, disconnect the source, or close your account.
Identity details from your bankOnly while needed for the linked account.
Profile & loginWhile your account is open.
Operational logs (no financial data)Up to 90 days, then rotated out.

How deletion works

We use a two-stage approach so nothing is lost by accident but nothing lingers:

Disconnecting an institution tells Plaid to deactivate the connection and revokes our access right away, then removes the related data on the schedule above.

How we adhere to Plaid’s policies

The data we access from your bank is provided through Plaid, and we handle it in line with our agreement with Plaid and Plaid’s own policies. In particular, we delete data obtained through Plaid when it’s no longer needed, and we deactivate a connection at Plaid whenever you disconnect an institution or close your account.

Plaid’s own handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can also review and manage the connections Plaid holds for you at my.plaid.com.
